Michès Playa Esmeralda Dominican Republic

Our family recently returned from our second visit to CM Miches. Our return visit was even better with the first and we enjoyed taking in everything the property had to offer. The property is gorgeous with a rugged and natural feel. It has a small resort feeling with all the amenities you could want available.

After a 1.5hr drive which felt reasonably short, we arrived to a warm greeting by the GO’s at the lobby. Our assigned room was in the Explorer Club section closest to the kids’ club and water park. This was a great location both to drop off the kids and being close to everything. Despite being so close to the kid’s area, we found the room to be very quiet and peaceful.

We put our kids in the Mini Club for a few hours every day and very often arrived at pickup seeing smiles on our kids faces. The Mini Club staff (Elsa, Carm-Suze, Captain Dodo) really go above and beyond to make the kids holiday amazing. This is a very strong “pro” about the CM holiday. When the teary goodbyes occur at drop off, the kids are swept up and drawn into the activity with a smooth transition. This allows for some adult time and relaxation at the Zen pool or beach.

Food and drinks were plentiful with frequently rotating options. We especially enjoyed the above average pastries and desserts. The food options available are accessible to all dietary groups with vegetarian, vegan GF, and non-dairy options being readily available. There are lots of fresh fruit and vegetable options available at every meal.

The fitness facilities and instruction are top notch. There are activities for all interests with the yoga, fitness and racket spots facilities being especially good. The classes are all well attended which shows the quality of instruction and focus on active movement at the property. I recommend trying yoga in the treetop yoga pavilion. The weight room is well stocked with both weights and cardio equipment. We recommend the sunset kayak cruise which shows the undeveloped beaches and jungle surrounding the property.

We did not experience any of the complaints noted in other reviews during our visit in early December.

Special shout out to the friendly and attentive staff at the Zen Bar (Jhonny), and all the waitstaff at the Cayuco. We will be back for another visit.

I recently visited club med in Miches. They r was a fabulous experience. The resort is beautiful, the staff attentive, the Chef de village and his team made the experience upbeat, fun and entertaining. The food was good, the beach beautiful, the rooms large and clean and there were many activities including various fitness related choices. All in all a great experience. The only negative comment is that there is no designated smoking location which meant we had to deal with people smoking anywhere they pleased.

Club Med Miches is a wonderful place for a family vacation ! The activities for a family are endless, for all ages. We have three young children, 5, 5 and 2 and we have only incredible things to say about the amazing family and kids club staff at Miches.

Mini Club Staff, Carm-Suze, Elsa, Betchina, Marie & Lamionitte truly made our 5 year-olds have an incredible week. There were times we came to pick them up to spend time together at the beach and they wanted to stay at the Mini-Club! The activities, the shows, everything they do is incredible. I also have too many amazing things to say about the staff at the Petit Club. Coco, Junie, Mymy, Aminata, Lamonte , and I may be forgetting some names, just the absolute best staff ever. So kind and warm and loving for our small children. Our 2 year old was always so happy to be with them. Thank you Mini club and Petit Club team for your love and kindness!

The food is very good at the resort, the beach is beautiful. It is a much smaller resort but it was perfect for us. We did have some issues with housekeeping and reception staff that I don't feel as though they were as accommodating about, but overall it was really a special week in a special place. The family staff helped us to make incredible memories. A special place for a family trip.

We had a lovely visit here overall. The staff were very helpful and considerate, doing their best to make sure that we were cared for. Sometimes there was a little confusion with language differences but a little patience on both sides helped a lot.

We enjoyed the sunset cruise and trying the wingfoil class though the waves made the latter a little tricky.

Another neat experience was the trapeze. I have very little experience with acrobatics but it looked fun. We were high in the air prior to jumping off the platform and my fear of heights kicked in but once I was flying through the air, I had little time to think about it. I was not able to fully complete the trick we were taught in the class the first day I tried. But thanks to the help in encouragement from my husband and the trapeze team including Joel, Mailys, Candela, Nacho, and Cooper I was able to complete that trick the next three times when I went back a few days later. I especially have to thank Candela for convincing me that I could complete a back flip on the tail end of my final trick!

We took a multi-generational family trip to Miches over Christmas break. What an amazing time! As a family, we've been to several Club Meds. Miches is by far the nicest of the clubs in every way.

The overall size and layout feels both spacious and proximate at the same time - nothing is too far away, which makes it easy to get around, even for my elder in-laws. Our accommodations and the other club buildings were really beautifully designed and inviting. We particularly loved eating at the outdoor patio at Coco Plum by the beach. The food in Miches is really delicious. While there may be slightly fewer options available at meals than at other clubs that we've been to, the options that we were offered were definitely a step up in quality (and the chefs did a really lovely job accommodating our gluten-free/celiac family members). We also loved the coffee shop by the pool, which was a great addition and perfect for a quick snack at any time.

Everyone who we encountered - from the folks who fetched us from the airport to the photographers who captured our entire vacation - was truly friendly and helpful. A few shout outs to those who we found particularly terrific and who made our vacation extra special: Maxamiliano (who we had actually met a few years ago in Cancun!), Jonathan, Annabelle, and Lorenzo - extraordinary GOs who we will miss and hope to see again; Amhett, Shirley and Arthur - the bartenders who made us exceptional concoctions and always greeted us with a smile; Beethoven (who did our family portraits), Rubenstein, Michel, and Pierre - the photo team who captured every moment of our fabulous vacation on film; and finally Anik and Elisabeth at the front desk, each of whom helped us in a myriad of ways during our stay. We are grateful for a fabulous team who went above and beyond to make our vacation memorable.
