GREAT LOCATION, GREAT STAFF BUT TOO MANY CHILDREN
This is our second stay at a Club Med Hotel last year we stayed in Val Thorens.
This is an honest and personal review.
Firstly we had a fabulous week skiing and the weather was glorious.
We stayed the Saturday night in Bourg Saint Maurice as we caught the Eurostar train on the Saturday morning. We were picked up by the driver from Club Med bang on time. Our return to Bourg St Maurice organized by Club Med was equally seamless.
On arrival we were greeted by two members of staff. We arrived at mid day and was pleased that our room was ready. However, the hotel wanted to charge us 40 euros each to check in early. We did not want to use any facilities only wanted access to our room. We decided to decline paying the extra and decided to explore the hotel. Once we had access to our room which was in the B wing we were more than happy. The view was ok but it did look over the staff accommodation. The cleaning of the room daily was first class.
This hotel has two restaurants. The main self service restaurant called 'The White Stone' is massive and gets very busy at breakfast and dinner, we did not use it at lunchtimes. There is plenty of choice and the food is well presented, the staff are very helpful but the tables are very slow to be cleaned especially at breakfast time.
The 1790 Gourmet restaurant experience is in an intimate setting, is extremely pleasant and you are allowed to use this restaurant once in your stay using the booking system. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive, this made a pleasant change from the hussle and bustle in the main restaurant.
There is a large bar called 'L'Arolla Main Bar' at the centre of this resort where all activities take place. The negative is it is running alive with children. This is a place to avoid if you want some quiet time. At 4pm in the afternoon snacks are offered but it is very busy. One afternoon part of the floor opened up and a bouncy castle appeared, I said to my husband 'Get me out of here!'
We opted to use the bar which is attached to the 1790 Gourmet restaurant. This is a chill area and really quiet, with sofas and chairs to relax. The bar staff are very attentive and will bring you hot or cold drinks to your table. I did not see any children in this bar. Bar snacks are a bit hit and miss, sometimes they are available and sometimes not.
There is another area called the Zen Lounge which is marketed as a chill room with a log fire and drinks. We did find this room but it was so un-inviting with no log fire alight, the lighting was dreadful and the coffee machine was not turned on. May I comment to the management, this room was never used by anyone and it is a waste of space.
The pool area was very pleasant and quiet when we used it in the mornings. The hot tub was an extra special treat. The life guard did inform us that the afternoons were usually busy.
The ski room was really good. On arrival our skis, poles and boots were already in our lockers ready to go.
Overall: This is a great hotel and in a good location with ski in and out facilities
Personally there were too many children running around, however, we should have read the hotel features regarding kids clubs etc. There is a full programme of childcare from toddlers to older teenage children, which is an indication. We chose this week because this is in English term time, however, we were led to believe in South America it is their holiday break.
I did loose 2 items at different times in the hotel during the week and to my delight they both turned up at reception which was fabulous and demonstrated that the system works.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for families, but those skiers who want a more chilled break maybe look for something smaller.

My Les Arcs Adventure
I had a very good week. The skiing was good the teens club was very fun. The supervisors (Enzo, Nathaniel and Ralph) were funny active and were open to activities and ideas. They were understanding and that gave me the ability to trust them and rely on them.

Amazing experience in Club Med Les Arcs
Me and my family had an amazing ski week. The whole experience is incredible. I would like to thank the team that treated my family very well: Gilles, Bianca, Diego (ski shop), Antonio (sommelier), Hugo (bartender), they truly transformed our week, making us feel welcome, at home. I would also like to mention Enzo, Raphael and Nathaniel, that work in the Teens Club. My two teenagers had a great time with this team and other teens. In addition, Lucas (ski teacher for teenagers) helped my daughters level up their ski skills. Thank you all so much for your hard work.

The password
For the past week I have being staying in the club med les arcs and Enzo, Nathanael and Raphael were super welcoming and nice, proposing activities every night so we always had something to do. The Password is a wonderful place to be every afternoon after ski. Thank you, merci, gracias e obrigado.
